I rarely wear what I term a "full face" when it comes to makeup. But last night I did, and I rattled off everything I had plastered on my face to Jennifer:
concealer
tinted moisturizer
bronzer
brow gel
eyeliner
eyeshadow
mascara
lipliner
lipgloss
There was a pause, and then she replied as only Jennifer can reply: "So basically you had on a mask."
In more ways than one, sister dear. Amazing how I always have to look glamorous when I go back to Lee Central. Like I have something to prove. But what I found was...
The choir is still the best thing that ever happened to Lee Central (screw the basketball team!!! heh heh)
I do miss how Christianity manages to be intertwined with everything, even though it is a public school choir (true, most are just going through the motions, but it is kinda nice)
Some people actually missed me (go figure)
I missed them too (whoa. guess I'm not as aloof as I think I am)
Having people do an impression of me singing "Respect" my freshman year (which was so funny because nobody thought I could sing with much soul) never gets any less embarrassing
Slater (my old choir director, nobody ever calls him "Mr.") still makes the craziest faces when he thinks nobody's looking
The more things change...the more they stay exactly the same.
