The Basics...

Welcome to the very first post of my very first blog. Now, don't leave yet. I know your pointer was hovering over that back button, but humor me. The obligatory first blog must include who I am and why I'm writing this, yes? So...my name is Liza- perpetual dreamer and queen of procrastination, among other things.

And I'm writing this mostly for the benefit of my friends who also have blogs. This is an awesome way to get to know each other better, I think. This blog will consist of my rambling and things I find interesting. If you don't like it, I don't really care. I am who I am, and trying to change myself is rather silly. But if some of you find this blog interesting, then yay! We should be friends...

Finally, why the heck is this thing called Velveteen Equations? Have you ever heard of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex? If not, it's okay. I'm one of those weird people who like anime...Anyway. The soundtrack to said anime is awesome, with most of the songs being composed by Yoko Kanno. who is a musical genius and comes up with this crazy-eclectic music. One of my favorite songs on it is called Velveteen, which is in Italian and English and sung by an Italian singer. (But it was composed by a Japanese musician. That's weird, isn't it?) Anyway, here's part of the song:

Tu sei per me...iaria che respiro
il mio cibo, cioche osservo
magico sei tu! e sento che
Sono inamorata di emozioni
smisurate e infinite ormai!
vivi, nei miei pensieri.
a velveteen equation
You are for me... the air that I breathe
My food, the eyes I see with
You're the magic! And I feel
Than I'm in love
Immeasurably and almost intinitely
Live, in my thoughts
a velveteen equation

My belief is if you look hard enough, there are many moments in life that are beautiful in their simply pure poetry- velveteen equations, if you will. Thus, the blog was born. If you've read this far, thank you very much. I hope you'll come again. Until next time...

Anime Lyrics.Com- on my favorites list!

I like your blog. You're a rather witty person. But I think I started to learn that in House Church... Anyway, pink is a marvelous color and procrastination is also a passion of mine.

Thanks for sharing. <3, Erin
