I was walking back from Marble Slab when this car pulls up with these two white guys in it. They have a plastic head of Osama Bin Laden attached to the window, so when the door is shut, it looks like he's riding in there with them. They open the door, and they're blaring gospel music. I mean hand-clapping, soulful-choir-behind-a-brassy-female-lead gospel. There's a group of black people in front of me, and they can't believe it. They start laughing their heads off when the guys notice them and start yelling like people with the "Spirit" in church, trying to get them to join in.
The ironic thing is, they sounded pretty accurate.
Oh, manga helps me remember my Japanese numbers. See, there's this character in Bleach named Ichigo (which means strawberry), but he gets mad whenever people mention that. He insists that it's written with completely different kanji, including the kanji for "one", "ichi". So that's how I remember "ichi" is one. And another manga I read is called Nana, which is about two girls named Nana. In the manga, seven is a number that keeps popping up, and to distinguish the two Nanas, one is nicknamed Hachi, so I always remember that "nana" means seven and "hachi" means eight.
When I told her about my new educational benefits from manga, my mom said, "Well, at least they're good for something."
Lou is staying in Columbia! Yay! She's taking a job with the Shack- the job Christine has now, actually. When I was on the phone with her, she said, "I'm going to be Christine." Now that's a cool job. Of course, she's going to have to learn to sing-talk when she's excited about something, now...
