They replaced the mediocre Chinese restaurant in Russell House with a mediocre Greek restaurant. But hey, I'm not gonna be picky. Gyros, hummus, pita chips...that's all I need. And tabbouleh. Tabbouleh is my favorite Greek food. It's fun to eat and fun to say. Tabbouleh, tabbouleh... They also sell little triangles of baklava, which I've been craving for months. So it's all good.
I saw a shooting star tonight. It was awesome. I was outside staring up at the sky, like I always do, when I saw a star just plummet from its space in the sky without warning, leaving a trail of light behind it. I had been looking right at the star right before it fell too. I've never seen a shooting star so clearly.
Just goes to show you, you can't judge a book by its cover... Today, I met this middle-aged guy with a long beard who works as a welder for this company that makes bathroom stalls and sinks. His real name's Robert, but everybody calls him Hammer. He's road captain of a Christian biker gang...there were patches about Jesus all over his leather jacket. A real leather jacket with the cool big zipper and everything. My favorite patch read "These ARE my church clothes."
And the dude quoted Einstein. "Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." He had all these insights, and he just caught on to stuff amazingly fast...he was an intellectual in leather. I just thought that was so awesome. That dude was cool...for real. I like it when people surprise me like that.
